A few years back, Johnny and Curt Webber introduced me to the Big T Talk and Variety show, which consisted of Ol Tom "Big T" Bennett, sidekick John McGowan, and some hick named "Bones" who would stay off camera and basically agree with anything his boss said (think of him as Big T's baba-booey).
These crusty old timers would sit around complaining about minorities, liberals, gays, punk kids - the stuff you hear someones racist grandfather stewing about in the basement; except this was broadcast on Comcast Channel 23
We used to call in before going out to the bars on Friday night and pretend to be uber-liberals. I asked questions like "don't you think downtown Danbury needs more handicap parking?" or "can you give me any advice before bringing my black girlfriend home to mom?" Big T would go off on one of his rants and we would sit back and laugh - good wholesome fun was had by all.
We'll now it seems that the HatCityBLOG has gone on a crusade against the Big T show, and along with Fairfield Weekly have gotten enough people to call in and complain that the show has been canceled (this news is about a month old, by the way - but I'm just hearing about it now).

Now, both the blog and the magazine are right, Big T is an ignorant, racist, swine of a man, as shown in the video below. The problem I have with all of this is that some people actually took this turd serious enough to care about what he says to an audience of 50, most who tuned in to laugh at him.
I say bring back the Big T show!
