Has there ever been an Italian president?

A lot of fuss is being made over the fact that in 2008 we may see either a female or black president. However, if Rudy is elected, won't he be the first Italian-American president? I don't have time to do my research on this, but I think that's accurate....I know Kennedy was the first (and last) Catholic president, and he wasn't Italian.
And since all Italians are Catholic, I did the math.

 

I would assume that some women will vote for Hillary just because she's a woman, and some black people will vote for Barack just because he's black. If that logic holds true for Rudy, he's got Waterbury and North Jersey in the bag.

 

For the record, I'm voting for either Hillary or Barack. Right now I'm rooting for Hillary to make it through the primary's, simply because I'd love to see Lady Bill in action.

 

Also for the record, I'm not a really a democrat or even completely liberal. I an truly disgusted by the current administration, but I don't hold that against the republican party. If the democrats seem like saints, it's only because they haven't had the chance to fuck things up in 8 years.
